ENCHANTED GOLF ...

A challenging 18 holes of championship golf designed by the late Roger Mackay and Michael Coate, bordered by state forest and the Canning River, the course features fast large undulating greens, testing changes of elevation and strategically placed water hazards and bunkers. Wide, impeccably manicured fairways contribute to the unique character of this very special course which is truly one of nature’s most picturesque playing fields. A fleet of 65 golf carts, completed by continuous cart paths, means golf can be played 12 months of the year. Other facilities include a driving range, two short game practice areas and two

tennis courts. The golf course is complemented by an impressive clubhouse, providing breathtaking views of the enchanted valley.

The two most remarkable holes are the Par 4 9th and the signature Par 3 16th hole.

The ninth’s difficulty commences off the tee, with club selection being a major issue. The correct club must be hit or your ball could end up in the lake protecting the green, after that issue you are then faced with a 100 metre carry over the lake onto the severely sloped green.

The signature 16th is a shot hit into the enchanted valley. Tee off is 40 metres above the green and surrounding the green is a lake, a bunker and a creek . Golf balls have been timed at having 8 seconds of airtime, and most of that is the vertical descent to the green.

The Western Australian PGA Championship was played here in 2005 and the winner was South Australian, Adam Bland who shot a remarkable 15 under par to win the event.

Araluen provides one of the most beautiful challenges any golfer could wish.
